Review: Kelly Kettle Scout By Kelly Kettle USA

By on December 28, 2013

Here is my review of the kelly kettle scout. The Kelly Kettle Stainless steel Scout holds 37.2 fl. oz. of water. It is very light and only weighs 2.2 lbs. Kelly Kettle Scout boils approximately 6 – 6 oz. Mugs of water at a time.  The Kelly Kettle even works in stormy conditions bringing water to boil within a matter of minutes using whatever solid fuel is naturally occurring in the area – sticks, grass, pine cones, bark etc. No need to carry fuel.

Product Dimensions:
Height 10.2 inches (Packed), 11.8″ set up
Diameter 7.3 inches (Widest Point at Rim of Base)
Capacity 37.2 fl. oz.
Weight 2.2 lbs.

My Review

I think that the kelly kettle is a great piece of equipment to have when your camping or hiking. This is a great item to purify drinking water, rehydrate freeze dried food or sterilize equipment. In some testing we did it boiled water in just under 5 minutes. It uses natural fuels so you can use anything that is around you sticks, grass, pine cones, bark etc. The Kelly Kettle’s fire is contained, so it’s not affected by any weather conditions. Plus it’s safer using an open fire. The Kelly Kettle is simple to use, durable and well constructed. This is a must have item to add to anyones camping gear. Check Kelly Kettle out over at
